The first European open qualifier for Charleroi Esports has come to a close with Sprout securing a place at the Belgian event following a 2-0 win over Giants in the grand final.
The qualifier began on Monday, which saw the best-of-one stages (from Round of 256 up to the semi-finals) play out, with Syman and 3DMAX being among the teams that got eliminated early as some of the biggest surprises of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Sprout and Giants powered through the bracket to make it to the grand final, defeating FASTLOSE and 2019, respectively, in the best-of-three semi-finals.
The German side continued their dominance in the final affair against Ricardo "fox" Pacheco's men, grabbing Inferno 16-8 on the back of a great defensive half and winning Dust2 16-9 despite Giants' respectable attempt to come back from a 0-7 start.
With Sprout qualifying for Charleroi Esports, the team list of the €100,000 event taking place on April 12-14 in Charleroi, Belgium looks as follows:
The second European qualifier will be held on March 18-19. Teams can still sign up on FACEIT's platform here.
